Blocked/Broken Saniflo Toilet

One of the many benefits of using a Saniflo toilet is that the macerator is robust and efficient. However, as with anything else, time or potential neglect will eventually lead to some performance issues.

A Saniflo can be blocked by a number of things, which can cause a number of different problems. We can provide timely assistance with all of them. The most common causes of a blocked Saniflo drain are:

  • Foreign objects
  • Sanitary products
  • Wet wipes
  • Dental floss
  • Limescale build up

Saniflo Toilet

There are lots of signs that your Saniflo has a blockage or a problem that requires attention. These include:

Very loud vibrations
This most commonly occurs when foreign objects, like sanitary products and wet wipes, catch on the macerator blade. The macerator blade cannot break the items up, so they remain stuck and the blade cannot run properly. If this happens you need to make sure the foreign objects are removed right away, because they can damage the motor.

Humming or buzzing
This is usually a sign that the macerator blade is jammed or the motor has failed. For the most part, it is possible to repair or replace these. Although a tired and broken motor will mean that the unit needs to be replaced. Luckily, we are able to provide a full installation service.

Leaking
There are a couple of primary causes of leakage. These are:

  • Build up
It is most likely that your Saniflo is dirty and needs cleaning out (which we can do for you).
  • Broken rubber waste outlet
Using too much toilet cleaner can cause the rubber waste outlet to shrink, which means it no longer provides a fully-efficient seal, and water will be able to escape when the Saniflo is running.
  • Water backing up
If you find that water is backing up into other appliances, this will mean there is a blockage of some kind somewhere. This could either be caused by a jammed motor that is preventing water from pumping out, or blocked traps or waste pipes. Similarly, if the outlet pipework hasn’t been installed correctly, the waste will block on the bends.

The repairs we offer vary, from a Saniflo service to full installation. We can service any Saniflo to ensure it is clean and running as it should, and we are also able to change the parts that fail most commonly.
